Homage
Terms of Use
Effective October 19, 2026
These are the rules for using Homage: your account, what you post and what we can do with it, and the fine print every site needs. We’ve tried to keep them short and readable.
1. Agreeing to these terms
Homage is run by one person in Florida (“Homage,” “we,” “us”). By using homageusa.com, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Homage.
2. Who can use Homage
You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these Terms for you.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate information, and keep your password and security answer to yourself.
- One person per account. You’re responsible for what happens on yours.
- Usernames can’t pretend to be someone else or be offensive. We may change or reclaim a username that breaks this rule.
- Tell us at homageusahomage@gmail.com if you think someone else is using your account.
4. What you post
Your Homages stay yours. You own the stories, ratings and pictures you post.
By posting on Homage, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, format and share your content on Homage, and in ways that promote it. That includes keepsake cards, link previews and social posts. We can also let others view and share it through the site. This license ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared, cached or kept in backups for a limited time.
When you post, you promise that:
- You actually lived at the place, or knew it firsthand, and the story is your own.
- It’s your honest experience and opinion, and anything you state as fact is true as far as you know.
- You have the right to post it, including any pictures.
- It follows our Community Guidelines.
Posting anonymously hides your name from other people, not from us. We can still connect a Homage to your account if the law requires it.
5. What’s not allowed
Don’t use Homage to:
- Expose private information, like private people’s full names, phone numbers, emails or details that could put someone at risk.
- Threaten, harass, bully or spread hate.
- Post false statements of fact about real people or businesses.
- Write about places you never lived, or post someone else’s story as your own.
- Post spam, ads or anything illegal, sexual or graphically violent.
- Pretend to be someone else, or try to game ratings, upvotes, reads or badges.
- Break or overload the site, scrape it at scale, or get around our limits, reports or security.
6. Reports and removal
Anyone with an account can report a Homage. We don’t take Homages down just because they’re unflattering. Honest experiences, good or bad, are what Homage is for.
We may hide or remove a Homage, or any content, when it collects enough reports, when it exposes private information, when it breaks these Terms or our Guidelines, or when the law requires it. These decisions are ours. We may also suspend or close accounts that break the rules. We don’t review everything posted and aren’t responsible for checking it.
If a Homage is about you or your property and you believe it breaks the rules, report it on its page or write to homageusahomage@gmail.com.
7. Homages are opinions, not advice
Homages, ratings and the neighborhood details we show reflect people’s own experiences and outside data sources. We don’t verify them, unless a Homage is marked “Verified tenancy,” and even then only that the person lived there. Nothing on Homage is real estate, legal or financial advice. Do your own research before deciding where to live. Homages say what their writers think, not what Homage thinks.
8. Ratings, upvotes and badges
Ratings, upvotes, reads, badges and awards are for fun and community. They have no cash value. We can change how they work, or adjust or remove them, for example to fix mistakes or stop gaming.
9. Ads
Homage may show ads. Ads come from their advertisers, and we aren’t responsible for what they offer.
10. Our name and the site itself
The Homage name, logo, design and code belong to us. Maps and place data come from Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors, and neighborhood figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, under their own terms. Don’t copy or reuse our site or brand without permission.
11. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Homage copies your work without permission, email homageusahomage@gmail.com with: your contact details, the work you own, a link to where it appears on Homage, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized, a statement that your notice is accurate and that you’re the owner (or authorized to act for them), and your signature. We’ll respond and remove it if appropriate, and we may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Homage any time, and ask us to delete your account at homageusahomage@gmail.com. We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or put others at risk. Sections that by their nature should last, like the content license for copies already shared, the disclaimers and the limits on liability, still apply after that.
13. Disclaimers
Homage is provided “as is” and “as available.” As far as the law allows, we make no promises, express or implied, that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any purpose. That includes the content people post, the maps and the neighborhood data.
14. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Homage isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or from anything someone else posts. Our total liability for any claim about Homage is limited to $50.
15. If someone makes a claim because of your post
If you break these Terms, or post something that leads to a claim against Homage, you agree to cover Homage’s reasonable costs from that claim, including legal fees.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Florida, and you and Homage agree to their jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and for bigger changes we’ll let you know, for example with a notice on the site. If you keep using Homage after a change, that means you accept the new Terms.
