Pikes Peak from the front porch
I started living in the house that I’m currently at towards the beginning of February of 2026. I wanted a good amount of living space and was growing tired of Denver last year so I moved into my current spot in the city of Colorado Springs. The springs is about an hour south of Denver, and much more peaceful and spacious. Not to mention their car culture here is absolutely insane. So, naturally I just went ahead and jumped at the opportunity to sign my 1 year lease here. The house that I’m in was built in the year 1900, and it’s a Victorian-esque style home. It’s got tiny, rooms that do a good job in the name of compartmentalization, and my favorite part is the front porch/patio area that allows me to sit and watch my neighbors, chill outside with my dog, and hang my own basket plants from these old school hooks that are built into the different parts of the porch. I live close to downtown Colorado Springs, only about a 4 minute walk. So it’s super convenient to be able to grab some drinks at the local dive bar down the street and just walk home with a peace of mind. my favorite memory by far is waking up everyday, going on my front porch and getting to look at the front of pikes peak mountain before I start my day. Pikes peak is a huge 14 thousand foot mountain and it is definitely magical to look at. I plan to stay here for the duration of my lease, and then find a similar place in Colorado Springs for next year
